Custom Canvas and Covers is a small business based in Perth, specialising in industrial sewing for both residential and commercial clients. The business is run by Juan, who is originally from China, where her design and sewing skills were honed. Her Chinese business manufactured industrial clothing and employed 30 staff. Here in Australia, her experience includes working for a caravan company as a sewing machinist and upholsterer, then for a work-ware company, and now runs her own business “Custom Canvas and Covers” full time from her home office in Perth’s Northern suburbs. Juan utilises her vast sewing experience that she has accrued since 1990, and applies these skills to manufacture of canvas and PVC bags and covers, and repairs to anything that has stitches. Her workshop is equipped with many modern computerised industrial sewing machines, including a light machine, walking foot machine, over-locker, long arm walking foot machine, Arm machine, dual needle machine, programmable automatic machine, and more. Several machines are capable of stitching multiple layers of heavy fabrics like canvas and PVC.
